United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) - National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) Agency
In conjunction with Anriva Information Management, Rick worked on enhancing the United States Department of Agriculture's (USDA) capabilities to collect, analyze, and disseminate statistical data through a new enterprise estimates system. The new enterprise system provides commodity analysts with an electronic and secure estimation process and is used at the NASS headquarters as well as it's various field offices located throughout the United States.
Rick's role was overall project management, developing complete documentation and logic flowcharts, ensuring successful completion against the business requirements, educating users on utilization of the software, and ensuring utilization of Microsoft's Team Foundation Server and Sharepoint blogging technologies to document every aspect of code development and management

Loudoun Storm Fastpitch Softball
Loudoun Storm Fastpitch Softball is a 501c3 non-profit organization that needed easy to use website development for each of it's age dependent teams as well as secure video for private instructional viewing. Google Apps is the perfect solution as each age dependent team has its own sub-domain which hosts an independent website administrated by a parent volunteer for that team.
Google's Sites templates allow rapid website development within a framework setup by the organization's board of directors. Furthermore, Site's ease of use provides the ability to have parent volunteer's easily update the site with pictures, videos, schedules, stats, and other team information allowing easy coordination among team members.
As a 501c3 organization, Loudoun Storm was able to upgrade their Google Apps to the Educational Edition which provides access to Google's premier video technology. Based on YouTube, the premier Google video technology allows for private viewing and distribution by domain. Private videos are important to a team as each coach can securely create and critique videos of players which can only be seen by those who are a member of the domain.
Additionally, Google Checkout incorporated into Sites eases fundraising burdens by providing an easy way for family and friends to donate to the team utilizing a major credit card such as Visa or Discover.

Diamond Elite Glory Fastpitch Softball
Diamond Elite Glory is a girls fastpitch softball organization that needed an easy to use and low cost option for website creation. Google Sites was the perfect solution by integrating Google's Spreadsheet for statistics; Google's Calendar for scheduling; and Google's Picassa for photo sharing within the website. Zingodia Systems helped to establish the domain and provided a few hours of training on site creation.

Western Loudoun Girls Softball is a community softball association affiliated with Babe Ruth which has been established to provide a recreational fastpitch softball program for girls, ages 5-18 years, from the towns of western Loudoun County. They needed a zero cost web hosting solution that was easy to administrate and had the ability to be updated by various volunteers over time. Additionally, the Google Calendar for scheduling, form creation for parent feedback, file cabinet for document control, and picture management allows the organization to reach out to all the player families. Zingodia Systems helped provide site creation guidance and how to training. |
