Google released another good case study regarding a move to the Google Apps set of tools and the company figures somewhere between a 60-70% savings over a Microsoft Exchange solution.  Alta Planning and Design is a 60 person company located in over a dozen offices nationwide.  What initially started off as a search for better e-mail ended up becoming the full gamut of capabilities: Gmail, Google's instant messaging, Google Calendar, Google Sites, Google Video and Google Docs.  Besides the savings, the more interesting aspect are the benefits received from collaboration via Google Sites and video communication via Google Video Chat.  The result is a greater level of reliable information and communication within the company.
