For years it was simply Gmail's simplicity - start to type in an e-mail address or a name and Google would auto-complete the entry - nice! But there were just times when I wanted to search through my contacts to see if there was someone else that I should add as a recipient to the e-mail and there wasn't a good way to do so. Starting today, there's a new enhancement to mail... select the To:, Cc:, or Bcc, links with the mouse and a new contact chooser pops up in a window. Google has done a nice job implementing a basic function: (1) there's the ability to search using Google's powerful search engine technology to find a contact by any first name, last name, or e-mail address (just start typing) (2) a drop down list displays the groups you've created (3) selection is simple - either select all from the search/group-list or select the individuals desired (4) clicking on a name in the selection box de-selects the individual More information can be found on Google's post. |
